There are a number of steps for a new USAVolleyball club to be organized in the Bayou Region.

  1. Individuals must create a SportsEngine Account (required to apply for USAV membership)
  2. Through the SE account apply for USAV membership registration as an Adult affiliated with a junior program
    • Adults affiliated with the junior club must complete the background screen, IMPACT certification and SafeSport certification
    • These are REQUIRED before any adult can be affiliated with a junior program.
    • Adult players not affiliated in any way with a junior program are not require to have a current BGS, IMPACT or SafeSport certification.
  3. Complete and submit the Club Sanction application
    • Once the Club has been officially ‘accepted’ members may be invited to join the club.

Additional Information

  1. USAV annual regular membership is $50 for all Bayou Regional members
    • USAV/BRVA does have reduced rate memberships
    • Summer only – $25
    • Under 10 – $15
    • Under 8 – Free
    • Outdoor (Beach only) – $20
      • Reduced indoor memberships are not eligible to participate in any USAV National Qualifier Event or any indoor USAV Junior National Championships
  1. All members must have a SportsEngine account to register for a USAV membership through the BayouRVA
    1. Adults affiliated with a junior program (Director, Managers, trainers, coaches, chaperones, etc.) must have a current:
      • USAV Background screen (Completed every two seasons at an Additional Fee)
      • IMPACT Certification (Free to current members)
      • SafeSport Certification (renewed every two seasons and Free)
    2. Juniors must complete the medical release information during online registration
  1. Team requirements
    1. All teams must have on their playing roster for each event:
      1. Two (2) certified scorers
      2. One (1) certified referee
        1. Only members 15+ may obtain referee certification
      3. Certifications are obtained by:
        1. Completing the appropriate online courses provided or
        2. Attending a regional rules and/or scorer clinic
          1. Schedule for ‘on-site’ Referee and/or Scorer clinics may be found on the region calendar
        3. The Region charge no fees for ‘on-site’ or online referee/scorer clinics
    2. Player equipment as outlined in the USAV Domestic Competition Regulations
    3. Teams/Coaches must have the player medical release information available during any USAV sanctioned activity (events, practice, team meetings, etc)

Insurance

  1. All current members are covered by the USAVolleyball Sports Accident Insurance
    1. This is a secondary policy with a deductible
  2. Liability Insurance
    1. Clubs/teams may request Proof of Liability Insurance Certificates (PoLI) for facilities which are required
      1. There is no region fee for providing PoLI certificates.

Check the region calendar for the list of junior events in The Region

  1. BRVA members may play in any USAV event held anywhere in the U.S.
  2. Additional USAV events may be found on other region websites or USAVolleyball.
